TEDxUniversityofManchester will be held in the Kanaris Lecture Theatre at the Manchester Museum on 28 March 2013 from 4pm to 8.30pm including refreshments. TED is a non-profit organization devoted to ‘ideas worth sharing.’ TEDx is an independently organised TED event linked to a specific location, in our case the University of Manchester. During the event there will be around 8 speakers, 5 of which have been confirmed so far:

Professor Clive Agnew, Vice President for Teaching, Learning & Students at the University of Manchester will be talking about the future of university education in the 21st century.

Shahbaz Hussain, a world renowned tabla player will come and play the tabla and discuss teaching the art of Tabla.

Elliot Woods, one half of Kimchi and Chips will talk about the installations he makes with his partner Mimi Son. Their installations challenge the way people relate to each other and their environments.

Professor Julian Dodd, lecturer at the University of Manchester will discuss the intersections between music and philosophy.

Singer Songwriter Nancy Elizabeth conjures up beautiful atmospheres with her enchanting songs in between which she will talk about the process of writing those songs.
