This is a discussion group that meets to discuss aspects of research in the area of medieval dress and textiles. Speakers are invited to talk about their work which the group then discusses.
The Group’s aim is to facilitate dialogue between researchers, professionals and interested parties on the subject of Dress and Textiles from the Medieval Period (c. 450-1650). This may include new and ongoing research, the discussion of new ideas or the testing of theories. The group is open to anyone who has an interest in the topic.
Funding from ArtsMethods will be used to enable further discussion to take place outside of meetings via a web based forum. The forum will give people the opportunity to continue discussions after the meetings and open up the debate to researchers who are unable to attend meetings.
Lead Organiser: Alexandra Makin (English and American Studies)
Forum Monitors: Alexandra Makin and Anna Henderson (History)
