AHRC Forum on Large Theme Grants

11am on Tuesday 23rd October.

Venue: Room A112, Sam Alexander Building, School of Arts, Languages and Cultures.

The School of Arts, Languages and Cultures and Faculty Research Office will be holding an open meeting to promote awareness of and potential responses to the three main themes highlighted in the current AHRC Large Grants call for bids: Science in Culture, Digital Transformations and Translating Cultures. The deadlines for outline applications under these themes are all in mid-January. See:

http://www.ahrc.ac.uk/Funding-Opportunities/Research-funding/Themes/Pages/Theme-Large-Grants.aspx

Professor Steve Hutchings, Research Director in SALC, will provide an overview of the themes, on AHRC thinking about them, and on the context of the launch of the call. Further advice will be provided on developing major consortium bids and arrangements for the peer review of all potential applications to these schemes will also be made available.

These are major interdisciplinary opportunities with an emphasis on engaging researchers from across all aspects of the humanities and the science base.
