Under the new DCMS Jerwood Creative Bursaries Scheme, Manchester International Festival is inviting applications from recent graduates for the position of Trainee Producer (MIF Creative). This is a 12-month paid post aimed at a budding arts producer who wishes to develop their professional skills and work experience.  Key activities will be to assist the administration, development and delivery of the 2011 MIF Creative programme, which includes performing arts, visual arts, music and non-traditional commissions and events as well as educational workshops and seminars.

The post is offered as part of the DCMS Jerwood Creative Bursaries Scheme, aimed specifically at recent arts graduates whose circumstances mean they cannot afford to pay for training or whose background and family circumstances might make it difficult for them to take up unpaid internships. In order to be eligible applicants must have graduated in 2009 or 2010 with a 2:1 (or higher) BA degree and must have been in receipt of a full maintenance grant, special support grant or hardship fund grant whilst studying.

The DCMS Jerwood Creative Bursaries Scheme is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and Arts Council England and managed by the Jerwood Foundation and Jerwood Charitable Foundation.  Further information and details of how to apply can be found from the MIF website

Please forward this link to those you believe may be interested in applying, and please let us know if you have suggestions for places we could advertise the opportunity to recent graduates.

With thanks and best wishes,
