Work placement opportunities

Dear PhD students, Gate Films, a TV production company, is looking for two PhD students with enthusiasm and research skills for two weeks work placements (unpaid but with expenses). You would be involved in putting together a pitch for two programmes/series. The first is to assist in the development of a project seeking to (re)introduce a wide audience to some of the classic British novels. The second is to develop the historical background to a series examining the cuisine of the Jewish Diaspora. If the commission is taken up, there would be the possibility later for a period of paid work. Both projects are in development now, and so the earlier you could start the better. However, make sure that a work placement doesn’t interfere too much with your PhD research; this would count, however, as part of your training hours. Speak to your supervisor if necessary.
